Indonesian Biorisk Association (IBA) is a non-profit organization that is aimed for improving awareness on the safety and security of biological agents through educative and advocating actions

ABI is independent, not involved in any political activities, and not affiliated with any political parties.

MISSION

Increase the knowledge and awareness about biosafety and biosecurity (biorisk) throughout the country

ADVOCACY AND PARTNERSHIP

ABI actively commence, participate, and provide :

  • assistance to prepare the Code of Conduct on Biosecurity
  • assistance to prepare the Biosafety and Biosecurity guidebooks
  • assistance to prepare standards in Laboratory Biorisk Management System (i.e. SNI 8340-2016 : adopted from CWA 15793) and its implementation (i.e. RSNI3 : adopted from CWA 16393) for the certification of laboratory facilities that handle biological agents (including animal facilities).
  • consultancy to the stake holders, e.g. in the building of mobile laboratories during the time of pandemic/outbreak
  • assistance upon assessment or audit by the National Accreditation Committee

  • ABI is part of the National Biosafety Association and Biosafety Working Group in the region
