Welcome toIndonesian Biorisk Association

Indonesian Biorisk Association (IBA) was founded on 2011.

The Inauguration held on 26 September 2011 by the Minister of Health.

IBA was established in order to face the challenges and needs to improve the nation’s ability in the safety and security of biological agents by building awareness, training, exchange of information and “mentorship”

  • Becoming a pioneer in the field of Biorisk Management in Indonesia

ADVOCACY AND PARTNERSHIP

  • Assisting the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) in preparing the Code of Conduct on Biosecurity
  • Assisting the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) in preparing the Biosafety and Biosecurity guidebooks
  • Assisting the National Standardization Agency (BSN) in preparing SNI 8340-2016 (adoption from CWA 15793) concerning Laboratory Biorick Management System and RSNI3 Laboratory Biorisk Management System – Implementation Guide (adoption from CWA 16393). These two SNIs will be used for the certification scheme for laboratory facilities that handle biological agents (including animal facilities).
  • Assisting Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) built a mobile laboratory as a consultant
  • Some Board Members acted as assessors for National Accreditation Committee (KAN)
